Type C Zombies
One of the less common methods of zombification, viral infections can nonetheless start medium to high level zombie outbreaks with deadly efficiency.
Among several known viruses responsible for the Walking Dead are:
* Kuru, CJD, and other prion based infections (although not technically viruses, the zombie behaves identically to zombies infected with other disease).
* Solenum
* Ebola - v.Sudan, v.Zaire (NOT v.Reston or Marburg)
* Meningitis Z
* ZAIDs
* Rage
* The Common Cold
Virally infected zombies are unique to other forms of zombie because not only are they still alive, but appear to be often quite fast and easy to kill. Viral zombie characteristics include:
- Extremely red eyes due to collapsed capillaries
- Frequent coughing spells
- Jerky, spasmodic movements reminiscent of severe Tourette's Syndrome cases
- Tendency to prefer eating human flesh to tasty Human brains
Virally induced Zombies can be killed using any method that would be fatal to a normal Human Being, and therefore are not usually the most difficult to deal with. Be warned, however, that zombifying illnesses are extremely contagious, and viral zombies (Vombies) are the leading cause of zombification by other Zombies.
